Our topic of debate is twitter. After some research I found out that Twitter is not all about stalking your favourite celebrity, it can actually save lives because of its fast broadcasting. an account

So, is twitter a hype, or a valuable tool for communication? I believe it is a way to over bridge the usual obstacles in communication. Twitter enriches our way of connecting, since many different groups make significant use of twitter to gather news and coordinate  responses. TV and newspapers gain information from twitter; here they can find new and usually unreachable sources of news. Twitter is smartly used by pr-agents, it gives them the possibility to market for free.  On top of it all, twitter has got a huge network; there are no boundaries such as education, age, btwitter artikelelief, sex or country.

Another aspect of twitter is that it provides very fast reporting of, otherwise, unknown news. In emergency situations, eyewitnesses tweet about what’s going on, and the news is spread rapidly, and has a tremendously big audience.  For example, eyewitnesses of the Mumbai attacks in 2008, sent approximately 80 tweets every 5 seconds, and they posted lists of dead and injured people. They also sent out essential information such as emergency phone numbers and locations of hospitals needing blood donations.

If you ask me, twitter can’t possibly be a hype, it is already intergraded in our lives and in my opinion it can only grow bigger, better and broader.
